The leading characters in the series are Mirko and Slavko – people whose names remind of the old times, but who have their own way of coping with the problems of the time they live in.

Mirko is an average football player whose career is coming to an end. His future in sports is uncertain and he returns to his hometown Banja Luka to live with his demented mother, introverted brother and a girl who, far from her hometown, screams for attention and love, seeking them in the wrong way. There, he will restore his father's grill house »Kod Rajka« (»Rajko's grill house«), although there is nothing left of it but the reputation that the cevapi are »better than Muja's«. Its destiny is also uncertain because of the economy and of the big plans forged by the large investors. One of the investors is Slavko, Mirko's childhood friend, who suddenly returns in the life of his old friend just when he needs him the most. Their destinies will be completely intertwined and they will influence the stories of many persons around them while Mirko and Slavko seek their own way to solve life problems, as well as to find out how many of their moral values they have managed to save.
